Anna Marie Hill – Director Kid City

My name is Anna Marie Hill and I am the Director at Grace of Calvary Kid City. I have been with the program since it started in 2011. Before coming to Grace of Calvary, I worked in a Preschool setting and with School Age children for over 15 years. I have my CDA in early childhood education and also an Associates’ Degree in Pictorial Illustration and Fashion Illustration.

I have 2 children. One of our sons lives in New Jersey and works for the police department and the other lives with us here in Glendora and is currently attending Cal State LA. My husband is the Pastor at Grace of Calvary in Glendora.

Being a Mom myself, I realize that there is no greater honor than to be entrusted with the care and nurturing of a child. At Grace of Calvary we realize this tremendous responsibility and do our best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience in our caring and loving environment. We all work together to help your children become confident in their abilities as students and also in the assurance they are all blessing from God.

I feel that we here at Grace of Calvary are partners with you, the parents of our children, and with your help and with us all working together we can help your children become confident in their abilities as students and also in the assurance they are a blessing from God.

Holly Scherch – Assistant Director

Hi, I’m Holly Henderson Scherch. I’ve been here at Grace of Calvary Kid City since October 2011.

I started my childcare career in 1996 with Arcadia Unified School District where I worked with kindergarten through 5th grade children. In 1999, I piloted and supervised their middle school childcare program. I worked there until late 2005 when I moved to Minot, North Dakota. While in North Dakota, I was employed by the Department of Defense Youth Programs at Minot Air Force Base. 5 years later I came back to sunny southern California and am lucky enough to be here with all of you!

I attended Citrus College as well as Minot State University Bottineau, North Dakota. I am currently a junior with a major in Child Development.

I’m originally from Arcadia and have 4 sisters. I have two nieces that live here in Glendora that I absolutely adore. I like to cook, garden, and shoot pool.

It’s a great privilege to have the opportunity to be part of your children’s lives. I love what I do and appreciate my wonderful coworkers and families we have here at Grace of Calvary.

“Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him”. Psalm 127:3

Bobbi Nickels – Teacher

Hello, my name is Bobbi Nickels and I’m 24 years old. I just graduated in June from California State University, East Bay, with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. Next to spending time here at Kid City with your children, traveling the world with people I love is one of my favorite things to do.

Growing up in the foster care system, one of my goals in life was to work with these children in foster care who have no support system because I know how important that is but as I got into childcare, I realized that regardless of a child’s position in life, everyone could use support. Having the right support system allows us to go far in life and it is beyond rewarding seeing these children grow because of the support we give.

I have a few teachers that I still keep in contact with that inspired me to be the person I am today. One of my long term goals is to go back to school and get my credential so I can teach and inspire other children how some of my teachers did for me. I look forward to working with all of the children and staff here at Kid City.

Room 5: Treya & Holly

I have completed over 97 units of college credits and have accepted admission to Cal Poly Pomona where I will continue my studies to obtain a Baccalaureate of Science in Business Management with a focus in Human Resources. My goals as an Kid City Teacher are to be positive, kind, and to make sure that each and every student knows that I will always be there to guide them and help them with anything they may need.
